Christian Ludwig Attersee is a prominent figure in Austrian art celebrated for his vibrant artworks that integrates themes of sexuality and natural studies.

Attersee’s diverse artistic practice extends to painting, graphics, sculpture, applied art, stage design and film production. His artistic style shifts from figural to symbolic, characterized by vibrant colors and energetic brushwork, often infused with ambiguous artistic references and a playful Austrian sensibility, particularly inclined towards sexual innuendo. His works frequently incorporate contextual elements and textual layers, enriching their depth. Attersee’s exhibitions are curated as immersive experiences that blend visual art with music and literature, often featuring collaborations with fellow artists, enhancing the overall artistic dialogue and engagement.

Christian Ludwig Attersee, born in 1940 in Pressburg, Slovakia, lives and works in Vienna and Semmering in Lower Austria.
